I've bookmarked this place for a while and thought I'll invite my youngest brother to have lunch with me at this restaurant. When we arrived, they had just opened for the day and we were their first customers. As soon as we were seated, we were given 2 cups of cold water. To place our order, we had to scan the QR code that was placed on our table. I ended up ordering the tomato house special rice noodles with crispy pork and my brother ordered the original house special rice noodles with crispy pork. Our noodles arrived pretty quickly after we had sent our order in. In terms of flavor, I thought my soup was delicious. However, the "crispy" pork was no longer crispy when we received it. If you look at my pic, the pork was soaked inside the soup which made it super soggy. My brother said his soup was slightly too peppery for him and he also had the same problem with the pork. The restaurant was clean and since it wasn't busy, service was quick.

Food - 5/5. Wanted to have some hot noodle soup and decided to try this place. We love their rice noodle and the soup broths were tasty. We ordered the pickle pepper rice noodle which is pretty spicy with right balance of sourness. I read a review who gave low rating on their Sauerkraut noodle. The reviewer felt it was bland. Glad I ordered the Sauerkraut rice noodle despite that one review. I had the vegetarian version and asked for pork bone broth instead. I was surprised how good it was (without the oiliness that normally comes with it). You get a good balance of rich pork and the pickle mustard taste. The third noodle soup we ordered, the tomato rice noodle was just average though. Their snack desserts - sweet potato ball with taro and the brown sugar glutinous rice cake were fantastic. Crispy on the outside and most importantly not too sweet like what you get at some other restaurants. We also love their white moonlight lemon juice - sweet and refreshing line/calamansi taste. Ambiance - 5/5 clean, new and unique decor Service - 5/5 fast and friendly. Would definitely come back again with other family members and friends.

I've only ever had the lemon tea from here, and it is fresh! They do the hand smashing and it's legit. Would definitely come back for it if in the area.

We were on the way to Redwood City from the East Bay and decided to stop by here for lunch since I saw that they had just opened not too long ago. And I am so glad we did! There was a lot of parking available so we were able to get a spot right in front. The crispy pork was so good with the seasoning it came with! Out of everything we tried, the crispy milk roll was probably my favorite. The outside was nice and crispy while the inside was creamy and soft. It was also not too sweet. I wouldn't mind eating this every week! Looking forward to coming here again and trying their other dishes and desserts!

Wife and I shared the Pickled Peppers Rice Prime Beef Noodles, crispy pork, crispy milk rolls, and brown sugar jelly. Everything was really good and each item we ate had unique flavors and textures. The broth for the noodles was really good and unique although the beef they used was probably brisket which was on the chewy side. The crispy pork was tender and juicy, with minimal breading and comes with a szechuan powder that was really good. The crispy milk rolls were lightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The brown sugar jelly was good and refreshing at the end of the meal. Service was great. Ambiance was very much your typical no frills Chinese sit down restaurant. OberaWill come back again.

New joint, wife wanted to try, service? Fantastic. Broth? Flayyyyyvorful. Portion? It was like having 4 cup noodles. And there's more topping than noodles. Very clean and very quiet, (arrived right when opened but there were doordash, ubereats, etc picking up orders already). We are for sure coming back to try all that's on the menu. 10/10 would recommend. (Also, hangover cure broth. 100.)

Tingling, numbing localized sensation in mouth. No burning sensation going down chest cavity. *mala chili oil made from sichuan peppercorns. Sichuan chili oil made from special chili pods-creates burning sensation going down chest cavity. -mala taste so good! Sweet & sour seaweed strips (6.99) -generous portion of fresh, crunchy, green seaweed strips that wasn't sweet & sour. Had nice spicy mala flavas. Also great! May be sourced from seabeds close to shore. 4.5 stars yummy authentic. Hot pot a maybe. Saying on wall: "home made bowl of rice noodles may not be special. The memory of it is.."

Everything here is so tasty and authentic, and the portions are huge! Rice noodles are my absolute favorite and I think this might be my new favorite spot in the area! I got their Pickle Pepper House Special Rice Noodles and it was spicy, savory, a little sour, and just packed with so many toppings for added texture. The bowl was also really deep and lasted me two meals. The ingredients are super fresh, the rice noodles are soft, springy and soaked with flavor, + the broth is so flavorful. You can adjust your spice level and they have a small area where you can get sauces/fixings (green onion, cilantro, chilies, chili oil, soy sauce, etc.) to add into your bowl. Also the crispy pork here is 10/10!! And the workers were really sweet & gave us free lemon tea which was the perfect drink for the meal. Everyone who worked here was super patient, helpful, and attentive. They were overall really friendly, and that in combination with the delicious food definitely makes me want to come back. The inside is very spacious and has plenty of seating as well.

Welcome to ZSX Szechuan Rice Noodle, a culinary gem nestled in Newark, California, specializing in authentic Szechuan-style noodle dishes. Located at 6180 Jarvis Ave ste b, this trendy establishment is perfect for casual dining with friends or family. With options for outdoor seating and a dog-friendly atmosphere, ZSX is designed to accommodate a diverse clientele.

As a reviewer, I am particularly excited about the variety of offerings on their menu. ZSX presents a delightful collection of appetizers, ranging from crispy pork to fried dumplings, each brimming with flavor and character. One standout is the Hot & Spicy Beef, making a bold statement with its rich flavors.

The heart of ZSX’s menu lies in their signature rice noodles. My visit featured the Original House Special Rice Noodles and the Tomato House Special Rice Noodles. Each bowl is a masterpiece that harmonizes the taste of Szechuan spices and fresh ingredients. The Original House Special is particularly impressive, boasting a lineup of ingredients such as goldenrod, bamboo fungus, quail eggs, and unique noodles that create a satisfying depth of flavor.

  • Unique Flavor Profiles: The combination of fresh ingredients like seaweed strips and tomato slices sets these dishes apart. Many patrons testify to the delightful balance of spicy and sour elements, making each mouthful a new experience.
  • Comfort Food at Its Best: For those chilly days or late-night cravings, nothing beats the warm embrace of a steaming bowl of ZSX's noodle soup.
  • Great for Groups: The ambiance is casual and moderately noisy, making it an ideal spot for gatherings.

While not everything was perfection according to customer feedback, like the consistency of the crispy pork which seemed to lose its texture in the soup, the overall experience remains positive. Guests have noted the freshness of their drinks, like the white moonlight lemon juice, refreshing and sweet with the right balance of tartness.

In conclusion, ZSX Szechuan Rice Noodle brings the essence of Szechuan cuisine to the heart of Newark. With its flavorful dishes, engaging atmosphere, and accommodating services like delivery and takeout, it's a must-visit for noodle lovers and culinary explorers alike. As I left ZSX, I couldn’t help but feel excited to return and delve deeper into their mouthwatering menu. Don't miss out on this delightful experience!”
